Precautions (Police)?
My father, (who was with the Southampton City Police),
said it is "Police". My uncle,
(who was with the Isle of Wight Constabulary), told me it
is "Precautions". As they both
served in WW2 and had ample chance to observe the A.R.P.
"up close and personal", I cannot take sides. From the amount
of correspondence I have received, "Precautions" is the correct
terminology
This badge is nickel, some are made from silver and hallmarked as
such.
